A commemorative film for the National Park Service marking 400 years of African American history.
The Ask
The National Park Service needed a thought-provoking film to commemorate 400 years of the African American experience, as part of the 400 Years of African American History Commission Act signed by Congress in 2018.
The Solution
We produced a film that traces the African American experience through the lens of national park sites across the country. The piece connects audiences to parks as sources of healing and historical understanding, and is used by the NPS in interpretive programming nationwide.
The Results
Premiered at the Smithsonian and distributed nationally through the National Park Service. One of the most significant historical documentaries in the NPS collection.
