The Ask
The US Forest Service wanted a film that showed the reality of wildfire management in the West and honored the work of wildland firefighters, at a time when public understanding of fire management was low.
The Solution
We embedded with an active wildfire crew in Montana, shooting over two weeks in active fire conditions. The resulting film is used by multiple federal agencies during fire season to build public support for wildland firefighters. It has become one of the most-shared Forest Service films in recent years.
The Results
Selected for broadcast distribution and festival circuits. One of the most widely shared wildfire awareness films in Forest Service history.
